Great book....Poor movie

My first point of this comparative analysis is about Golding's book, he is trying to show that the kids had to depend on themselves without any authority. in the movie there was an adult on the island because he was rescued by Ralph after the crash. this changed the plot because there was one extra person on the island. he was hurt and about to die, but even though he didn't help the kids in their elections and stop them from killing Simon and Piggy the story was changed. In the movie the captain represented authority.

my second point of this analysis is about the boys nationality. in the book the boys are English. golding made them English because in that time young boys were being evacuated from London because of the bombings. also because the English are very proper and it would be a contradiction if they turned savages. in the movie the boys were Americans. this changed the movie because of their knowledge, language and personality was more savage like. their actions were more savage. they wanted more freedom.

my last reason is that in Golding's book none of the kids knew each other. golding did this to show that every kid had to be dependent and had to get to know each other and work to achieve something. in the movie all the kids came from the same american military school. this changed the plot because in the begining when they were "electing" a leader they knew that ralph was the colonel so he would be the leader. this shows how there was integrity.

after reading the book and watching the movie I can say the book was much better.
If a movie will be made after a movie I think it should be almost the same, same plot same characters and same idea. Even though the main idea was the same there were many changes that have really ruined peoples idea of a great book.

You Cant Have it All

but you can have a cold drink of water...when the sun is to hot and the wind wont blow
and the true friends that will help you
You can have a reason to smile...
You can have the opportunity to suffer and the choice to forget
you can have the hot summers in your backyard where the fun wont stop, like the heat of the sun
you can have those trips to the beach where the water dances and the sand sleeps
you can have the teachers that push you... so you become a better person
you can have the moments with your family that you will remember forever because of one small detail
you can have the sky, ground and sea
you can have the cold winters where snow is the way
you can have that song, the one that reminded you of many things
you can have those days where you dont want to wake up because you know it wont be a good day
you can have that chocolate ice cream that brings a smile to your face
you can have that garden...full of roses, so bright...
you cant have it all, but you have to be great full with what you have

Mountain Laurel

Lake Tahoe,
cold nights
and during the days the
wind blows
both ways

the crystal clear water
from
the lake,
surrounded by melting snow on the
top of the mountains

the mansions, with the
perfect
view of the dancing trees
and the
sleeping lake

The wind blows both ways...

the sun is out,
but the cold wind
blows

the town,full of wooden houses,
with chimneys,
for when it snows..
and the wooden balcony
for when the sun, is out and the wind
blows

the old fashion restaurant, in
the dead corner
of the street humdrum in the
outside,
tumultuous in the inside

the wind blows both ways

everybody, smiling
jumping, laughing
its the 4th...
he 4th of July!
the stars shine and the stripes
dance

all of this in the land of the free,
and the home of the
brave

Hero

Title: Hero

Publisher: Philomel Books

Genre: Fiction, Young Adult, Fantasy

Where I got it: USA

First Sentence: There were four thugs, total gangsters, in front of the house with their rifles and night–vision goggles.

First chapter review: In the first chapter Zach (the main character) is sprinting home because his mother has some news to tell him. Zach’s father is a Special Forces agent and Zach was expecting to see him that day. Sadly he received the news that his father had died. His plane had crashed. He starts to realize what is happening.

Verdict: I liked this book because it was the first one of this genre that I have ever read, it was very interesting.

Cover Comments: Nothing Mike Lupica has written will thrill you like this – William Goldman

Every kid secretly wants to be a superhero. Well, be careful what you wish for––you might just get it. Hero is the amazing story of Zach Harriman, and nothing Mike Lupica has written will thrill you like this – William Goldman

Found Poem

The tide was coming in
Ralph found himself walking on a
narrow strip
of firm beach

Understanding his thoughts in the
two side of the triangle
maze...

where every part is an improvisation
the tide was coming in
an assembly for cleverness
not
for laughing, or fun
the tide,
was coming in

the beast, falling off
the log
but after all the tide was coming in...

the beast, like the darkness on the island

the beast... the worn out
grass
the grey roses
all around the conch

While the tide was coming in
